Wisconsin State Senate, District 16
Melissa Sargent is a trusted public servant working to move Wisconsin forward. Born and raised in Dane County, Melissa served on the Dane County Board of Supervisors prior to being elected to represent the 48th Assembly District in the Wisconsin State Legislature. Before her start in politics, Melissa owned a small business and worked in the private sector. Concern for the greater community and a vision for a better Wisconsin brought her to public service and community activism. She is a proud single mother of 4 boys and lives on Madison’s Northside.
We need progressive policies that work to ensure the health and well-being of our friends and neighbors. We need leaders who will work proactively to ensure that every Wisconsinite has the ability to be safe, healthy, and successful. Too many Wisconsinites are struggling to keep their heads above water. Over the past seven years, it has been Melissa’s honor to represent and serve the amazing people of the 48th Assembly District. Now, in her candidacy for the 16th Senate District of Wisconsin, she is confident that her experience, compassion, and proven leadership will serve her community as they continue to move forward together.
