State House of Representatives, District 112
Brandy is a respected attorney in Dallas. Originally from Oklahoma, Brandy earned her degrees from Oklahoma University and moved into the Dallas-Fort Worth area in 2001. She remembers her mother bringing her to rallies for women’s rights which inspired her lifelong fight for human rights. She continues to live her values and is an advocate for the most vulnerable in her community.
Brandy is running for Texas House 112 after almost defeating her 6-term incumbent opponent in the last cycle. Brandy is running on expanding health care, reforming property tax relief for working families, and strengthening public education. She is great example for her daughter, Julia, and women everywhere who tenaciously fight for what they believe in.
Brandy believes in people-powered politics. She’s a bold leader when it comes to protecting working families from being burdened by healthcare costs and income inequality. Her campaign is providing the opportunity for individuals with prior convictions and some who are experiencing housing insecurity to train as paid field organizers. Brandy’s also an immigration advocate. She has spent her time volunteering helping families file for citizenship. Brandy has spent time fundraising for other women running for State House Representative in Texas. She understands the importance of Democrats winning the House and the implications redistricting will have. Brandy is also committed to civil rights, expanding the electorate, and having her campaign register new voters/those who have recently moved into the district
