Dallas City Council, District 10
DeDe Alexander has lived in North Texas almost her entire life. After graduating from Washington University in St. Louis, DeDe spent a year working for Habitat for Humanity as an Americorps VISTA. After her year of service, she went back to school at the University of Houston- Victoria for her Masters in Psychology. Her work as a Licensed Professional Counselor has been devoted to those who benefit the most from professional mental health care, including the homeless, low-income, and victims of abuse- most recently as an employee for the Dallas County Juvenile Department. In her time as a counselor, she has heard countless stories about the lack of investment in Dallas’ residents and the issues they face. She is running for office because she believes that Dallas works best when all of its residents have the resources they need to reach their full potential.
