Dyane Burgos Medina

A selfless pioneer, Dyane Burgos Medina is determined to create an even playing field across all walk of life– starting with her hometown, Stockton, California. Currently, Dyane holds positions at St. Joseph’s Medical Center as a social worker to ensure sick and dying residents a dignified quality of life, Stockton Public Schools Foundation board, and is the Vice President of the San Joaquin Pride Center. Dyane’s education in social work helps her to navigate the multiple layers of systems in a person’s life and how to unlock a person’s full potential. On behalf of her community, Dyane is speaking up on the poorly executed policies that are inhibiting their success.
When first serving on Stockton City Council, Dyane made a conscious effort to make her office inclusive of all experiences. She wanted to make sure the city’s leadership served as an accurate representation and voice of the entire community. With the support of Stockton Mayor Tubbs, Dyane plans to move the city forward with cutting-edge progressive policies that can make meaningful change for minority communities and the many residents struggling with crime, low education, and high poverty.
