Come to Environmental Action 2007 on Nov. 17
Linked to groups: Central Vermont DFA Link Up
This is a great opportunity to get some training and network with likeminded folks from around the state. I will be co-leading a workshop on grassroots fundraising with Ginny Callan from New England Grassroots Environment Fund.Follow the links below for all the information and feel free to call or email me with any questions. The fee for this day-long conference (which includes lunch) is only $20 in advance, $25 at the door and there are discounts for 3 or more folks who are part of the same organization or group. So we could turn this into a CVTDFA outing and save money too!
Hope to see you there

VPIRG Energy Forum - Wed. 8/23 in Barre
Linked to groups: Central Vermont DFA Link Up
Hi Folks:This is just a quick heads up about an event that I think might be of interest to anyone who uses energy.
VPIRG is sponsoring a Forum focusing on Vermont's energy challenges. The Forum will feature many of the local legislative candidates from our area.
The Forum will be this Wed. 8/23, 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Old Socialist Labor Hall on Granite Street in Barre (just a few blocks from N. Main Street just before Dunkin Donuts).
The participants will be asked questions by VPIRG's Clean Energy staffer James Moore and a member of the League of Conservation Voters. Members of the audience will also have the opportunity to pose questions.
This is a great chance to hear where local legislative candidates stand on this crucial issue. I hope you will consider attending.
If you have questions feel free to contact Drew Hudson at VPIRG: dhudson@vpirg.org (802) 223-8421 ext. 4787
Hope you are well and enjoying these glorious days of late summer.

Who Killed the Electric Car? See the movie and support Bernie
Linked to groups: Central Vermont DFA Link Up
Dear CVTDFA Folks:I hope you will consider going to see this movie.
With Gas prices going up yet again, it's amazing that one
answer is out there but not available to us.
See this movie and Support Bernie's Campaign for the Senate at the same time.
It was among the fastest, most efficient production cars ever
built. It ran on electricity, produced no emissions and
catapulted American technology to the forefront of the
automotive industry. The lucky few who drove it never wanted to
give it up. So why did General Motors crush its fleet of EV1
electric vehicles in the Arizona desert??
COME FIND OUT!!!
The Merrill Roxy Cinema in Burlington is having an exclusive
showing on August 11th, in support of Bernie Sanders for the U.
S. Senate. Bernie will introduce the movie and speak with the
crowd for both showings. Come and see a powerful new film, and
at the same time help elect
Bernie to the US Senate!
Tickets: $20
Date: Friday, August 11th
Location: Merrill Roxy Cinema, 222 College St., Burlington
Movie Times:
7:00PM - August 11th
9:30PM - August 11th

NO CVTDFA Meeting on July 5 - special event coming July 30
Linked to groups: Central Vermont DFA Link Up
Hi Folks:Due the proximity of the July 4th holiday and the resulting crazier than usual schedules THERE WILL BE NO CENTRAL VT DFA MEETING ON JULY 5.
Instead, on Wed. July 5, we encourage you all to consider going to see Al Gore's new movie "An Inconvenient Truth" which is now playing at the Savoy. Don will be there and I'm hoping to make it to the late show.
ALSO - VERY IMPORTANT
Our DFA group has the opportunity to host a visit from peace activist Cindy Sheehan on Sun. evening July 30th. Cindy will be in Brattleboro earlier in the day and is willing to come to Montpelier. She is traveling the country recruiting folks to spend time with her at "Camp Casey" which will be restablished in Crawford Texxas when President Bush goes on his traditional month-long vacation in August. Camp Casey will move to Washington, DC in September.
We are trying to reserve the State House lawn for this gathering/rally.
We will need a bunch of folks to help with logistics on the 30th and a smaller crew to help with promoting the event.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN HELPING PLAN AND/OR CARRY OUT THIS IMPORTANT EVENT (or know others who are), Please contact Don Grabowski ASAP at donaldg@adelphia.net.
See you at the Savoy
