OPEN THREAD TOWN SQUARE FOR FRIDAY EVENING 8/1/08
In honor of our MIA bloggers and Howard Dean who is first.
Hi all... I'll be posting as T2T4D for a bit - ceasing all activity on old email addies/login id's for a bit to see if any more weird stuff starts up. I'll do any contacting with you here through DFA messages. If you get any email from me, DO NOT open it - I didn't send it.
Tim. Yikes! Hope the damage is minimal. Not a fun problem, my sympathies. We're on a roll here with changes, thanks for acting on those concerns. Now about the name... could we call an open thread "Open Thread"? btw, many thanks for taking care of that post the other night.
Bummer -- hope the damage isn't too awful. I really like the 'watercooler' being front paged - that's great -- if you can just change the name. Hope the pipe is a minor not a major deal.
Please repair as soon a s possible.
Good luck with your broken pipe. Never fun to deal with.
Thanks, Anni! Log out and check back in to see the changes.
thanks hq for the changes begining to taking place
thanks anni for the thread, I see the wc threads' borders got blown by something in a post.
puddle, I sent you an email from a new addy. will talk with ya tonight :-)
will pop back in later...

I've sent some suggestions through the comment link. I sent it to "Technical" since Danny didn't have his own category. Please take a look.

Guys you need to recommend if you want the thread not to disappear -- if we can get watercooler renamed maybe we can just post there? see ya a little later...
The wc is now front paged, but it's the second thread down....plus for newbies clicking in, the wc is listed at the bottom of everything..again, easy to overlook with such an awful name. Ånd there's no count of number of posts the way there is on all the other threads.
Try and convince us that we're not being pushed out!!
I also recommended...we're posting on the *new* WC. Come on over and complain. :-)
Oh boy. The repugs and 70 % of the people approve of offshore drilling. This is a very bad sign. Congress adjourned w/o passing the energy bill but the repugs stayed on demanding that they all do something about the energy bill to relieve Americans of high gas prices. The dems left.
Guess who's gonna get blamed for high gas prices?
ANYONE can get elected with 2 things.
1. Karl Rove
2. A stupid electorate
.
It would be nice if somebody had the courtesy to come by and admit what errors are being made and how they will be corrected. Such an explanation would also provide evidence that there's actual learning going on.
BTW, how does it happen that Annilow who's in Florida is posting on a NY group blog?

- New watercooler...
By Tim Watson on Aug 1, 2008 5:01 PM EDTWe have just a made a few changes to the "Watercooler". Hopefully to your liking.
First the Watercooler is now reset 3 times a day. There is a late night thread from 1am to 9am. A work day thread from 9am to 5pm and an evening thread from 5pm to 1am. All threads are still archived as always.
Second, the Watercooler now has a permant front page location. No matter what is on the blog or what else is posted, the watercooler text and link to this watercooler will remain as the second item.
We hope you enjoy these new changes and use them to the fullest extent. I now must go home and deal with a burst pipe that has taken out my phone line and who knows what else.
