H.CON.RES 362 ( Iran naval blockade)

Written by: anomalous Biff on Jul 15, 2008 4:41 PM EDT

I urge everyone to contact their representatives and ask they oppose the blockade of Iran, ( a prelude to war) Democrats need to stand up for once and make their voices heard. Not another war for Bush.

Good Luck To Us All!

Republican support for voter ID laws is insulting

They claim and try to present themselves as defenders of freedom and yet do everything they can to exclude people from participating, hypocritesof the higest order

We must accept and embrace the mistakes the president ( and congress) have made

We should shoulder our share of the responsibility, acknowledge our culpability. instead of blaming and finger pointing, then strive to make changes

I am really thinking about a national "don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out" drink to Bush Jan 19

Written by: anomalous Biff on May 3, 2008 5:27 PM EDT

So we can, as a nation raise our glasses and drink a toast to the traitor leaving office. ( Assuming he does, not sure he won't concoct something to keep himself in office or fix the election)

I have to roll my eyes at this "debate over bio-fuels and rising food prices"

Written by: anomalous Biff on Apr 20, 2008 5:27 PM EDT

It makes me think that the oil companies are back in there somewhere, doing something to fuel the controversy while they line their pockets and harm the earth doing it. Yes, bio-fuels based on food grains could cause higher prices, but, the really simple solution is develop and produce the biofuels not made of food grain. ( Yes, they're out there, it's to big oil's advantage that they not be developed or used )

Is "Operation Sudden Impact" an example of the coordination of law enforcement and a great example of why the Department of Homeland Security should be abolished?

Such centralization of law enforcement could threaten civil liberties

If you have no ideas, if you have nothing to offer

Written by: anomalous Biff on Apr 18, 2008 9:17 PM EDT

if all you are doing is backing a candidate with the hopes of living off larger entitlements because you can do nothing for yourself, you really are doing nothing to help, not that you are trying, but the rest of us would hope you would recognize the damage you're doing out of a lack of ideas and work ethic, and stop. You are hurting the country

The fallacy of the "We Can't Override The Veto" argument

Written by: anomalous Biff on Apr 18, 2008 1:28 PM EDT

While it's true that along party lines, the Democrats don't have the votes to overcome a veto, as Jeff Morris pointed out, that does not mean the congress has to roll over and give the president everything he wants. The congressional leadership has a habit of just throwing up their hands and claim they can't override the veto and give the president eveything he wants so they can pont fingers at election time and blame it on the president, hoping to help get the nominee elected. This is irresponsible to the country. They may not have the votes for an override, but they can pass the laws they want. We need some gumption in our leaders so they start passing legislation to help the country now.For all our sakes

Should we try to regulate the reselling of foreclosed mortgage loans?... Would anyone get behind the idea?

Written by: anomalous Biff on Apr 17, 2008 1:51 PM EDT

I just find it pretty despicable when I read about how  executives from mortgage lenders (who are the cause of the sub-prime mortgage problem) are starting up new companies to buy and resell these loans. If they had not been greedy they would not have sold those loans in the first place, the mea culpa about how they were just trying to help is ridiculous. They sold sub-prime loans to get more people to make payments and the companies could make as much money as possible, so they could resell (and profit from) the loans they should not have made in the first place?..Ridiculous.. Maybe if they could not make more money by reselling the loans, it would keep them from foreclosing.
