About Me:

My name is Bryan Hageny. I was recently hired as DFA's Deputy Training Director. I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with you.

A little about myself. I grew up in the great state of Wisconsin. Living in Wisconsin I was exposed to both a strong progressive tradition, as well as the rigid orthodoxy of "values" politics that is so prevalent today. I genuinely consider it a privilege to (politically speaking) have come into my own in a fiercely contested swing state with such strong progressive traditions. That said, I realize that there is so much more to be done (both in WI and around the country) to advance progressive causes.

I am a graduate of the University of Wisconsin. While at the UW I had the privilege of working on the campaigns of progressive political candidates like Howard Dean, John Kerry, and Tammy Baldwin. Having worked on the candidate side of politics, I decided to take a more direct means of effecting change. To this end I worked as an Assistant Director of a canvassing office in Boston, then as an Organizer of Power Shift 2007 (the first ever student global warming conference at the University of Maryland), and later as a Community Organizer in Pennsylvania.

My journey in the world of progressive politics has led me to DFA. I am really excited to be part of the DFA team, and cannot wait to work with you in the future to advance progressive causes.
