Am I Paranoid?

Written by: john nelson on Jul 15, 2008 5:27 PM EDT

Linked to campaigns: Obama for America

I have not been on this website for a few weeks due to my crazy work schedule; so maybe this has been discussed. I am a strong Obama supporter and do not consider myself to be paranoid or a conspiracy guy. However, I have some concerns I want to share and see if any of you agree.

In the past week the following things have happened:

1.) Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz; co chair of the Clinton campaign, made derogatory comments about Obama not reaching out to Clinton supporters. Her comments were pretty strong against Obama.

2.) Bill Clinton said that Obama had to kiss his ass.

3.) Hillary, in an appearance with Obama, gave a backhanded compliment saying the Democratic party is like a disfunctional family.

4.) Jesse Jackson, who has forty years of experience and should know better, was caught saying things into an open mic.

5.) The New Yorker cover appears. I heard on the radio today that the publisher of the New Yorker is a friend of Harold Eckies.

6.) Hillary sends out a letter to donars asking that in lieu of a refund, that they rollover their contribution to 2012. Apparently she wants Obama to pay off her current debt and she wants to keep her own $ for the future.

7.) Full page ads are run in newspapers saying that Howard Dean has turned the DNC into the Boston Tea Party.

Is there a connection between all these events or am I paranoid? Are the Clintons running an underground campaign to either hijack the nomination at the convention (by driving Obama's numbers lower) or drive his numbers lower so he loses this year and she will have another chance in 2012? I just get the feelings that the Clintons won't go away and Obama better watch his back. Any thoughts about this?

- The Clinton's recruited decorated soldier General Wesly Clark

By Marty S on Jul 16, 2008 2:32 AM EDT

to run against Sen. John Kerry who had based his entire campaign in 2004 on the Vietnam War. Clark recently questioned whether Sen. John McCain's military experience qualified him to be commader in chief, which put Obama in the position of defending John McCain thereby citing his military service.

Clark also stated that McCain has no executive experience and his judgment is flawed because he voted for the war in Iraq unlike Sen. Obama.

However Clark supported Sen. Hillary Clinton who has no military experience...has no executive experience...and she supported the war in Iraq so her judgment is flawed too.

Therefore Obama made a tactical error recruiting Clark as his military advisor because Clark is a friend of the Clinton's and he continues to support Hillary Clinton.

I must have missed something.  I was not aware that the Obama Campaign had recruited Wesley Clark.

- one correction to Marty's post..

the Clintons hired(very true) Clark to run against Kerry(very not true). in reality, they hired

him to run against Howard Dean-and Clark very smugly(my opinion) admitted this

in his interview on the Charlie Rose show in Feb 12, 2004. visit the charlie rose show

website, do a search for 'wesley clark', and watch this interview for yourselves if you havent

already.

by the Stephens Group and their associates in the Rose Law Firm and the Council on Foreign Relations and the Council on the Americas (to which McLarty decamped after his stint as chief of staff and seeing NAFTA through the Congress.  The monopolists, as I call them, always have candidates in each camp.  This time they're backing Huckabee.  Which is why I'm still looking for a Bush/Huckabee ticket, as Bush Two hinted.  Hillary would have been OK.  I haven't seen an evidence that they have their claws into Obama, other than the Clark connection.  But then, while McCain is a stalking horse, Clark may well be a trojan horse.

Good pitching is the best defense against good hitting. Obama is our ace. Just back him up and let him pitch.

It would make sense for them to 'weaken' Obama as a candidate so Hill can run in 2012.  I agree I wouldn't put anything past them.

- Good morning, everybody

It' always good to watch one's back.  Clinton's got a lot at stake.  There's the Clinton Global Initiative, for one thing.  The people who bank-rolled the Bushes and the Clintons and Clark are interested in one thing--power.  If it's true, as Howard Dean claims and Justice Anthony Kennedy affirms, that the people have the power, then the power-crazed naturally see the people as opponents and they're not going to be keen on citizens calling the shots.

The problem they face is that there are now many more of us than them (that's what happens when assets are concentrated in one percent of the population) and the assets don't do them much good when 99% have to be persuaded--especially when the credibility of the elites has been shredded to bits.

Anyway, I've got to write something up for Bluehampshire.  The National Journal is referring to New Hampshire as McCain Country on the basis of his having got the most votes in the primary.  Somehow they missed that he was the least objectionable Republican running, as far as New Hampshire Republicans could tell.

I'd gone off to write a new post.  BTW, access is still denied to drafts.  So, I wouldn't bother doing drafts.

- the forces arrayed against CHANGE are many

By * rdorgan on Jul 16, 2008 8:18 AM EDT

If only the dems could carry out a winning siege-like campaign like Julius Caesar did at the battle of Alesia 52 BC, when the opposing Gauls outnumbered his Roman forces by a 5 to 1 ratio.

Possibly it can happen. I'll follow Obama into battle against the RNC, the DLC, etc. and we'll beat the odds and forces arrayed against us:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Alesia

...

Caesar ordered the construction of an encircling set of fortifications, called a circumvallation, around Alesia.

...

Anticipating that a relief force would now be sent, Caesar ordered the construction of a second line of fortifications, the contravallation, facing outward and encircling his army between it and the first set of walls. The second line was identical to the first in design and extended for 21 kilometres, including four cavalry camps. This set of fortifications would protect the Roman army when the relief Gallic forces arrived: they were now besiegers and preparing to be besieged.
