11 Reasons to be Optimistic About Obama in North Carolina and Indiana
This is written primarily for Obama supporters who read these blogs. If you are anything like me (even though the nomination process is essentially over) I have been extremely nervous about the rough couple weeks that Obama has experienced; and the polls showing Clinton ahead in Indiana and closing the gap in North Carolina. I sense and believe that the bleeding has stopped and that Obama has turned the corner and will win North Carolina by double digits and have a dead heat in Indiana.
There are 11 reasons I feel this way:
1.) His press conference was widely praised and I believe put the Wright story behind him, at least for now.
2.) The switch of influential ex DNC Chair Joe Andrew to flip from Clinton to Obama and urge superdelegates to join him.
3.) Former DNC Chair Paul Kirk endorsing Obama.
4.) The story in the Politico that the members of Congress who were undecided superdelegates have decided and a high percentage have gone Obama's way. Did you see the statements on this from Clare McKaskill and John Kerry?
5.) The appearance over two days by Barack and Michelle on the Today Show, being interviewed by Meredith Viera. It was an incredible interview.
6.) Countdown carrying virtually the same interview over a two day period.
7.) Obama's awesome appearance on Letterman.
8.) The apparent gaffe made by a Clinton aide referring to people from Indiana.
9.) Obama has a one hour interview with Tim Russert this Sunday. I'm sure he will be great.
10.) The obvious difference between Clinton's pandering on the gas tax and Obama's "tell the truth" long term sensible approach.
11.) Obama's incredible speech tonight at the N.C. Jeff Jack dinner and the reception he received compared to Clinton's. The fire is back!
Let's win them both on Tuesday and put this thing away and turn our attention to McCain. If you can do anything to help please do it. Go to Indiana or N.C. to help; make phone calls if you can't go there in person; donate or call anyone you know in those states and try to get them to vote for Obama. Thanks.
