Harry Reid and Joe Lieberman need to chat....

Written by: DFA Staff on Nov 5, 2008 6:58 PM EST

Harry Reid and Joe Liberman will be discussing later this week about the future of Joe Lieberman according to CNN.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid will likely meet later this week with Joe Lieberman to discuss whether the Democrat-turned-Independent will be stripped of his Senate committee chairmanship, a senior Democratic leadership aide tells CNN.

Lieberman currently chairs the Senate's Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

This aide says that Reid, who is calling the meeting, has not yet decided what to do. The aide admits that the decision will be determined in part by the final election results tonight — and just how close the party is to a filibuster-proof 60-seat majority — but insists that the biggest factor involved is lingering anger among Senate Democrats over Lieberman's Republican convention speech.

This aide also said that Senate Democrats aren't that upset about Lieberman's constant presence and cheerleading on the campaign trail with John McCain — instead, they've been put off by the things he said about Barack Obama at the Republican convention in St. Paul.

Could this be the end of Joe Lieberman? Finally, will "droopy the dog," as my roommate calls him, be sent to the dog house?

- Dem leadership ignoring Dean

Emanual and the rest of the Dems are ignoring who got them the ring: Howard and the 50 state campaign.  Emanual will take them back to the dominance of the DLC and Dems will lose the 2008 and 2012 elections.  Dem leadership doesn't understand that involving everyone makes everyone a stake holder.  Make everyone a stakeholder and everyone works harder then watxching a few folks cut back-alley deals.  Isn't that what Repubs do?

dog, you prolly meant 2010, right?

I agree about Rahm.  I've heard a number of people say that Obama will lose in 2012 and that in 2010, the dems will be angry and discouraged.

Blame it on lack of sleep as we organized a four day blitz at our house that resulted in massive turn out. I held pre and post election blow-outs (BBQ pork, beer, pies, etc) that brought people together. We caravaned to the polls together and helped turn Kent county blue and keep Michigan blue. It was a 5 point Michigan Dem win in 2004 and Repubs won Kent County . It was a 16 point state win this year (57-41). The east side of the state is always deep blue. The diffrence came from more Dems in the west Michigan. Vets turned out almost entirely for Obama. We are so proud of Obama.

I am most concerned with Dems going back to their corporate DLC operation which essesntially turns Dems into Repubs. The party leaders don't understand Obama won by changing the game. You can be sure Repubs figured this one out because my former Repub buddies are already talking about cloning Obama's organization.

Unless Dems build on their inclusiveness, it will be a short reign.

that his cheerleading to continue the Iraq debacle makes Israel less secure.  What a  disgusting idiot.  If he had the brains God gave a goose, he would know that Israel's ultimate prosperity and security depends on peace with the Palestinians.

As we don't have enough guns and troops to stay in Iraq or Afghan, Israel doesn't have enough weapons to force security from Hamas and Hezzbolad.  All occuping troops either are eventually driven out or they morph into the fabric of the country they occupy.
