No Missouri Photo Id Calls

Written by: Retta Crawford on May 16, 2008 9:00 AM EDT

Attention Missourians:

Your voice is needed to call your Missouri Senators today to make sure they do not Vote for HJR48 the Voter Id. Channel 2 Fox News carried the story here in St Louis last night and you can check it out on MyFox.com.  John Hickey, Director of Missouri Progressive Vote spoke and citied their has never been one case of an illegal trying to vote as  registered voter.  Seems our Republican Party is desperate to remove qualified voters from Missouri's registered voter list and we as DFA members must see this doesn't happen.  Its an old old Republican ploy to remove voters prior to a major election.  You should be proud to make this call and I urge you to pledge 10 friends to do the same.  It is thought to be voted on today last day of the session so let's make those calls and let them hear from Missourians across the state.  I thank you in advance for your efforts on behalf of all who stand to have their voting rights removed.  Get those calls in Friday May 16th

CANVASSING FOR CHANGE

We had a great turnout for canvassing the weeks before Nov 2006 election.  In the county we knocked on over 69,000 doors that"s over 10% of St Louis County's 650,000 voters.  The pay and response was great.   Here in my own ward we had over 53% turnout at the polls and stem cell passed in a pro life area!!   With the robo calls getting attention and knowing they do work and irritate too!! We need to mobilize the party in order to be ready for the presidental campaign in 2008.  You really got to get the people motivated to vote The minimum wage campaign brought out statewide over 76% turnout with Cole county the lowest with each county carrying over 20% in the state but Cole (Jefferson City area).  With the election over lets charge the system with DFA meetups to prepare for future events to come.  Sen.Obama's visit here to St Louis brought out as big a crowd as Sen John Kery's visit back in 2004.  He really fired up the ground troops before the campaign.  Let's get stronger in the coming days.  THANKS to all you do DFA we truly showed we can make the difference.   Happy Birthday to Howard Dean he turned 58 on the 17th and lets honor him by a contribution......We made Missouri Blue...and  got a Sen. Claire McCaskill too!!!! Thanks for all you do  !!Give yourself a geat big Shout Out!! Happy holidays...Retta
