My Interests:
I find great peace and satisfaction in the garden growing lovely flowers as well as crisp veggies. Cooking this bounty and other ingredients for myself, for guests or for canning is a yummy activity. Though I haven't really done a lot of hiking here, in my new home, I'm hoping I'll find those special spots along a trail where one can sit and dream or write. I love to get lost on a river for a few days either canoeing on a winding slow river or going white water rafting. I think its the Pisces in me! I make my living by turning "cyber trash"- old computer components into jewelry, clocks, picture frames, and other artful, decorative items. I've heard there is a a wide variety of music in this area though I've not really explored the different venues. My favorite types of music include Jazz, Classical, Folk, Show tunes, Celtic, and I think I'm beginning to develop a liking of Old Timey - I think that's what its called. I also enjoy writing, singing and playing piano. So, there ya go. These are some of my interests.
Political Skills:
I've run a few campaigns for supervisor in CA ....... 'nuff said

About Me:
I'm a new Ashevillian having moved here on March 1, 2005 from Northern CA. Originally from the Catskill Mtns. in NY, I've lived in the West, the North West, the Mid West, the Mid Atlantic and now, the South. I've come to realize that I prefer our older Appalachian mountains to the Rockies. Though I've lived one block from the pacific, I prefer the abundant magical waterfalls in our area. At 57, being new to this area, I'm looking for what one might call "my tribe", if you will. I'm hoping to meet others who share my feelings of socio/eco/political responsibility. A group of kindred spirits who are creative, and like to gather together in "community" either through pot lucks, getting together for "hootenany" sorts of sing-a-longs (I started such and on going event where I used to live and it was great fun!) helping one another with tasks and just being friends. And oh, in case you're wondering if my name is really "Pinky" - it is. I am the 5th out of 6 kids and I've been called Pinky since I was born!
