Join Howard Dean – DFA’s 5th Birthday Party
Linked to groups: Blog For America, DFA Blog Network
Yesterday, you may have read that Gov. Howard Dean is coming back to Democracy for America. Here’s what he had to say:
I'm returning to DFA and I have to admit, it'll be nice to work out of my old office in Burlington. I'll also be hitting the road with you, stumping for grassroots candidates and advocating for the issues that matter most to you and me. For one, I think you know that healthcare for all is an important issue to me. I look forward to working with you to pass meaningful reform that makes sure that every American has the care they need.
TODAY the good Doctor is looking to celebrate five years of Democracy for America working to move America forward:
On March 25, DFA members will come together for a nationwide Birthday Party and conference call. I'll be there joining my brother Jim, some special guests, and DFA members across the country to celebrate the past five years and look forward to the successes of the next 50.
Will you host a DFA Birthday Party in your neighborhood?
Sign up to host a Democracy for America Birthday Party and Gov. Dean, Jim Dean, and some other special guests will join you by conference call or streaming live online. DFA member know how to celebrate and have a lot of fun. We also take our organizing seriously. Planning a party is easy and we’ll be there to help every step of the way:
That's right, hosting a party is easy. Once you sign up, the DFA Field Team will contact you right away with tips on what to do and how to do it. You just need a place to meet big enough for a few friends, a speaker phone or computer with internet to hear the nationwide conference call, and pens and paper to write letters to the editor in support of a healthcare plan that will cover all Americans.
So let's get together on March 25 and have some fun while we continue to make change happen. Hard work deserves its rewards -- and you've earned it.
Find a DFA 5th Birthday Party near you or host one yourself. It will be great to hear from Howard, Jim and special guests. It is going to be a good time.
Wish DFA a Happy 5th Birthday in the comments before you go plan your party! Thank you for all that you do.

Happy Birthday DFA!
let's bring open discussion back to the top of the blog.
I'll start a monthly contribution and discontinue the one to the DNC now that they've seemed to discontinue the 50 state strategy.
Hi, Mz*Little, good for you! I'd love to do the same thing, but, like many others, I seem to have lost my job, so money is scarce at the moment. However, if the situation changes, I'm going to start contributing monthly to DFA so Dean will know we support him.
Had to discontinue monthly trust fund debit myself some time back.
Working a new job now so I will renew Democracy Trust status.
but this year they seem to have dropped me off their roster of automatic contributions. I guess they don't need my money, cause they're not taking it.
What do you mean? Maybe your credit card expired or something. If you want to continue to be a DFA Trust member you can contact Ben Eisenberg at HQ about your Trust Account being updated.
I'd come back to the top of the blog if we had a bit more to 'discuss' than one subject every two to three weeks, as it's been for months now. there's only so much you can say before you're off topic and we know that isn't allowed here.
heh - even this will be moved, if anyone's paying attention.
it would be nice if hdqtrs would at least allow us to rank posts so they could move to the front page - but we know this isn't really a blog anymore - the watercooler is the only thing that resembles a blog at bfa. unless/until there's an adult controlling the blog we can expect more of the same.
but I hold out hope...
It is really is a sad state that this blog was forced to be. This blog is not a growing community any longer since honest political discourse was discouraged, edited i.e. censored and then became totally unwelcome. Bloggers live in constant fear that they will be banned and their accounts delegated for not staying "on topic", whatever that may mean on any giving day to the blog's censors.
has gov dean, md, been offered the position of surgeon general? or is it still part of the rumor mill?
*********
in EFFECT MEASURE, there are two posts re infectious diseases:
*the colossal and frightening screwup by a baxter international lab in austria........mixing seasonal flu viruses and the bird flu virus in the same vial, which hugely increases the risk of reassortment. baxter is mum about the possibility that the 'vaccine' was used on humans. there are only bits and pieces of reporting b/c no one will talk.
*a scientific paper on the analysis of the anthrax from dr ivins' lab and that on the envelopes sent to selected members of congress do not show the same chemical signature.

Dean for surgeon general?
[...]
Indeed, Dean associates were quick to bat the idea down, saying he has not been contacted. When the idea of surgeon general was floated a while ago, he tried to politely make it clear that he wasn't interested, according to a person close to Dean.
I am and always will be a Deaniac and I will do my best to put together a good "Welcome Back - Five Year" party for the man who has done so much for us!!
