My Interests:
Teaching anything I learn...I have taught at seminars on how women can break barriers, at schools positive thinking coping with bullys etc and my first love which is teaching tap, ballet and jazz. I love to swim and write and of course be a political advocate for causes I truly believe in. My hobby is photography and videography documenting various events.
Political Skills:
My involvement in politics began when I organized a phone bank for AFSME. Worked as CWA-IUE state rep with the AFL-CIO in Labor 2000 & 2002. I have been a labor liaison for other statewide campaigns and since retirement organized volunteer bases to canvas and do phonebanking. Assisted with various state and local campaigns in every capacity. Worked for GrassRoots Solutions, Fayette County Democratic Party, Field Coordinator (17 counties) for Mongiardo for US Senate, and currently Finance Director for Justin Dobbs for City Council
Favorite Quote:
I have two favorites: When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot, and hang on. When the going gets tough, the tough get going!
About Me:
I was once so shy no one could hear me speak....now my mother says I am not the same child she gave birth to when I told her I was running for city council a few years ago. I am no longer shy and love being with people that are political activists. I was born in Paris Kentucky, grew up on horse farms and care a great deal about protecting our greenspace & heritage. I was married for 23 years, have 3 daughters, 9 grandchildren and I have gotten 5 of them politically active. I was a former union president, been on the KY Commission on Women, currently serve on the AFL-CIO Executive Board and on the Human Rights Commission in Fayette County. I am the statewide Membership Chair for The Womens' Network.
