Blog on!
~ ~ ~
OOPS! Apologies. It ws me - the thread got blown when I tried to post - there's a new open thread in its place...
~ ~ ~
and Happy belated Birthday to Maura!
Happy Birthday to Linda in SFNM!
cake on the new thread :-)
Pawlenty tomorrow? Per Andrew Sullivan.
Have dinner guests coming so I've gotta run. Have a great night all.
Now THERE'S a McCain campaign song with traction...
they're talking about "Pawlenty O'Toole" from Jame's Bond's "Diamonds Are Forever."
She was named after her father...
if Pawlenty ~ it would apparently be voodoo math supporting that choice per a comment at the site mary linked to...
This could be an interesting test. The most recent StarTribune Minnesota Poll on the subject in late May found that 16 percent of Minnesotans said they would be more likely to vote for McCain with Pawlenty on the ticket, while 20 percent said Pawlenty would make them less likely to vote for McCain.
Tomorrow McCain will join with several prominent Evangelical Christians in announcing his Single Prayer Health Care proposal, which will save the country trillions of dollars in the next ten years.
He also intends to revive a popular idea from the Ford Administration. Touting its suiccess, McCain vowed to greatly expand the Conservative Republican Alternative Program, which will now be called the Conservative Republican Action Plan.
And thanks to Rich, Stephen, Paine, and others, who have been providing "WC-Free" open threads.
I have to agree with Monica, however, that these admirable constructs, while providing a welcome alternative to the control trip of Danny and Charles, do not adequately promote the sense of community that existed prior to the Draconian rule of the current BFA masters.
I hope that we shall soon see the end of the WC, and of the hateful and hated:

Pretty hard for the young to admit mistakes. Yet I see a willingness to *try* to see what our issues are. Perhaps if we give them a bit of breathing room, so they have the space to turn around (at least partly). . . . Hard to maneuver when somebody's right at your heels. . . .
the open threads from HQ go a long way :-) I still say the intentions were and are good, and appreciate the beginning steps to get back to a happier community. The hand has been extended and I want to shake and move forward with more positive changes. Yeah, that sentence could be rephrased, it's clear and concise but comes across badly, especially to this crowd. Maybe something to the effect of...

Howard Dean at the opening of the Natl Medical Association Saturday in GA.
Also Lanny Davis has decided that Iraq was a good idea, we have won, and he fondly remembers the purple fingers.
but not really. Boy, you're generating a lot of comments over there! PUMA is out to make trouble all over the place. It's sad that HC isn't distancing herself from this but is instead backing out on another promise - to help get Obama elected. Can't believe she would still be undermining Obama and trying to wrest the nomination in a convention fight. To her credit, she's speaking out against the HHS draft to redefine contraception as abortion. (good thread addressing that issue at the right)
Many apologies - seems I blew the thread this round trying to post after a blank screen and post data msg. We could always start a new one if needed.
Been having troubles osting when firefox is waiting to install its update
new open thread will pop up in a sec
