Thank you, Patrick Murphy!

Written by: Keith Campbell on Dec 20, 2007 8:00 PM EST

Linked to groups: Northeast Philadelphia for Democracy

Patrick Murphy has shown absolute courage yesterday

1. He voted against spending another $70 billion in Iraq and
Afghanistan.

2. He voted against the Republican tax bill, on the grounds that it
would balloon our existing deficit.

He did so fully knowing that it might not make him 100% popular with
his district. I don't want to criticize other area Democrats too
harshly, but if every Democrat showed the courage of Patrick Murphy,
our party would be unstoppable.

The right-wing will spin these votes for the next year. We need to
spread the truth now. Holding the line on the deficit and ending this
war are TRUE patriotism!!

I hope you and your family have a great holiday season!

Cheers,
Keith

Oct. NE Philly For Democracy meet-up cancelled / let's get out the vote!

Written by: Keith Campbell on Oct 9, 2006 10:21 AM EDT

Dear Member,

We have an historic opportunity to change the direction of the country and the Commonwealth for the better -- by electing progressive Democrats. With 29 days left until the election day, voter contact is paramount.

The October NE Philly for Democracy meeting will be cancelled, so that we can fully focus our time and resources on the upcoming elections.

Please consider increasing your commitments to a Democratic campaign -- whether it is working toward a Democratic majority in the PA legislature, the US Congress, helping re-elect Ed Rendell, or to send Rick Santorum packing -- our work on the ground will will this election.

Also, Please consult the DFA link for a calendar of events...there are some great events this week -- including an evening with columnist Dan Savage on Tuesday and a rally with President Clinton and Patrick Murphy on Wednesday.

Feel free to post voter contact and other events on your DFA link site.

We will resume our monthly meetings in mid-November. I can't wait to celebrate our victories with you then!

Cheers,
Keith Campbell

Blair Talmadge, Tony Payton's Campaign Manager, informed me that Commonwealth Judge Quigley overruled Common Pleas Court Judge C. Darnell Jones' decision this morning, re-affirming Tony Payton as Democratic candidate for State Representative.

Thank you to all who supported Tony in the last few months! This is a well-deserved victory for Tony...and for the progressive movement in Philadelphia.
