Name that bag!

DC for Democracy endorsed the Anacostia River Cleanup & Protection Act of 2009 last April, and we are delighted that it was voted into law, to be implemented in 2010.  The idea is to reduce pollution in the Anacostia River by promoting recycling and reuse of grocery carry-out bags.  The law accomplishes this by eliminating non-recyclable carry-out paper and plastic bags, charging a small 5-cent fee for recyclable paper and plastic bags, educating the public, and using the funds to clean up the Anacostia.

One of the best ways we can reduce pollution in our rivers is to bring our own grocery bags when we go shopping (even recycling costs money and uses precious resources).  To that end, we want to order our very own DC for Democracy bag, with a custom logo (something like the 2008 campaign bags pictured above).  We will sell the bags to our members and the general public in order to fundraise for DC4D.  We're still searching for the perfect bag, but we want YOUR IDEAS for a custom slogan.

We will pick the 3 best slogans and have an on-line poll to choose the winner.   If you submit the winning slogan, you will get a free bag.  So name that bag and get one free!
