Frank Palmer and I helped at the Board of Elections (69 W. Washington ) Saturday. It's an
amazing process where the Board opens up their database to all
campaigns to send in representatives to verify petition signatures.
Something like 50-100 people were there today, the largest contingent
apparently sent by Mike Madigan to check on challengers to Tom Dart
for Sheriff. Deb's campaign had us check signatures on a candidate
they are considering challenging (a woman who is believed to have been
thrown into the mix so that Deb would not stand apart as the only
woman on the ballot). The idea is that after this process, if a
candidate seems vulnerable at this stage, they can be challenged and
possibly removed as an opponent.

Deb's campaign is asking for volunteers to continue this.
So, if you have some time between 10 AM and 4 PM this week, please let them
know. Contact Adam Gypalo at 847-975-8966. It's one way we can help
that is incredibly easy, a little work at a computer for a few hours.
And, it's an amazing eye-opening exposure to the inner workings of our
political system.
