It appears that gaining proficiency on the new and improved blog will be a long, hard slog.
Did you all see that a super d in Indiana switched to Obama? He cited the long primary and the gas tax pander as his reasons. He also think Obama has shown mettle with the controversy concerning Wright. His name is Joe Andrews, former DNC Chair.
rdorgan posted a link to this news item on the last thread, vb. This defection from the Clinton camp will send bigger shock waves through it than Richardson's did.
Clinton's problem is she can't take a hint. Watching this kabuki drama surrounding the nomination drag on has convinced me that her political instincts have become too blunted for her to be an effective president. What a dork.
s/b thinks. Haven't had my coffee. Toolbar just showed up for this post.
I just read the last thread. I figured an east coaster had probably already posted the link. ;-)
The news today is again very negative for Barack. The traditional media is trying to bury him. They want an all-out fight with this nomination. They all know mathematically that Clinton can't win but the narrative is developing that Barack can't close the deal and Hillary can be the victor. It stinks.

Three more supers for Barack. I didn't see this on the last thread. Sorry if it's been posted. The damn links aren't working again.
Dear MoveOn member,
John McCain's chances of winning the White House get better every day.
He's defining himself as a maverick and he's burying the truth—that he'd continue President Bush's policies in nearly every important issue, especially the war in Iraq.
Tomorrow, we have a huge opportunity to set the record straight. It's the fifth anniversary of Bush's infamous "Mission Accomplished" speech. There's no better time to remind the public that, as McCain himself said, "no one has supported President Bush on Iraq more" than he has.
Our new rapid-response ad hits this point. And if we get it on the air, we can get the media talking about how 4 more years of Bush policy on Iraq would be a disaster for our nation.
We'll need to put together $200,000 to do it. Can you chip in $25? Watch the ad and contribute.
that Joe Andrew wrote is pretty powerful. It took guts. Let's hope that the people of Indiana and NC pay attention - as well as super d's.

Hillary Clinton has become a populist voice (hard to believe but true); protectionist, while repeating McCain's talking points and appearing on O'Reilly. quite a combination, eh?
But she also is a "historic" candidate representing the largest voting block ever to be never represented in the oval office, is closely tied to a successful President, is tenatious on the campaign trail, and has optimum name recognition.
The question the media should be asking is why she is going to lose a majority of delegates going to Denver.
the short answer is that super delegates know what they are doing
I feel sorry for her right now because Indiana is now just another delegate contest where at most she picks up one or two, because the Rev. Wright media circus has totally muddied that vote as a contest of leadership between the two, and a straight up contest on the merits of their ideas could have been interesting but is now been made totally irrelevent.
At all. But if that's makes it easier for you to explain Hillary's win, I understand.
Hillary's numbers were rising in Tuesday primary states long before the Wright contraversy was resparked this w/e and the beginning of this week denouncement. You can check out reports in Indiana that said,
Here Are The Results of SurveyUSA Election Poll #13801

Clinton Ends April Just As She Started: In a Democratic Primary in Indiana today, 04/28/08, 8 days until votes are counted, Hillary Clinton finishes ahead of Barack Obama, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted for WHAS-TV in Louisville and WCPO-TV in Cincinnati. The results are identical to a SurveyUSA TV poll released 4 weeks ago, on 04/01/08. Clinton led then 52% to 43%, leads now 52% to 43%."

Even Martin covered how the Obama loyalists say what ever supports Obama. First they said "alright Rev Wright, he is correct" then Tuesday after Obama distanced himself they were "that's the right thing to do". lol
But it is true, the numbers are increasing for Hillary even more as time passes.
Look at were the problems may lay instead of placing blame and making excuses in the wrong place.

Off subject, but when I get tense about work, politics, I relax by listening to the latest alternative music.
Well, two bands hailing from Sweden have caught my ear of late:

sorry Fred but both groups sing in English (just like ABBA). I'm impressed with the music coming out of Sweden of late -- a laid back indie pop (ie. Shout Out Louds sound like a more upbeat The Cure).
Oregon looks like the state that awards Obama enough delegates to mathematically eliminate her chances. I hope everyone there appreciates the stakes of that.
busy season here and I think the nation would rather have me on a planter, lowering corn prices with my efforts than bloviating on a blog, but I am glad the super delegates I have been trying to get to commit to Obama have done so.(even if I'm not a delegate after Sat. votes at the convention.) I am still going to contest for the final Delegate slot for "Party Leader" at the State Convention.
That letter took guts. This guy has moxy. I hope it is in every major newspaper across the country.
- Joe Andres has also written a lengthy letter explaining his decision that he plans to send to other superdelegates.
By Joan In Florida on May 1, 2008 11:09 AM EDTJoe Andrew, who was Democratic National Committee chairman from 1999-2001, planned a news conference Thursday in his hometown of Indianapolis to urge other Hoosiers to support Obama in Tuesday's primary, perhaps the most important contest left in the White House race.
He also has written a lengthy letter explaining his decision that he plans to send to other superdelegates.
"I am convinced that the primary process has devolved to the point that it's now bad for the Democratic Party," Andrew said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press.

By NEDRA PICKLER – 1 hour ago
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A leader of the Democratic Party under Bill Clinton has switched his allegiance to Barack Obama and is encouraging fellow Democrats to "heal the rift in our party" and unite behind the Illinois senator.
Joe Andrew, who was Democratic National Committee chairman from 1999-2001, planned a news conference Thursday in his hometown of Indianapolis to urge other Hoosiers to support Obama in Tuesday's primary, perhaps the most important contest left in the White House race. He also has written a lengthy letter explaining his decision that he plans to send to other superdelegates.
"I am convinced that the primary process has devolved to the point that it's now bad for the Democratic Party," Andrew said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press.
Bill Clinton appointed Andrew chairman of the DNC near the end of his presidency, and Andrew endorsed the former first lady last year on the day she declared her candidacy for the White House. ... more: http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5g90V8XQZSWr4K1yzT-vNrffP9wNQD90CTC1G0

Have a safe trip, Susan, we'll miss you
Morning Folks,
Let's hope that Obama can pull it off.
Had to smile at your post, Michael Ellis, last night. Where I heard a very sharp mind, honesty, and gentleness with the interviewer, a sense of humor (I didn't want him to go into politics, anything but... There are mean people out there.) from Michelle Obama; you heard "gotta".
Interesting perspectives. I'm reminded of my mother pursing her lips saying, "There's no such word as enthuse!"
Different perspectives are interesting. They say a lot about our us.
Snow today.
Listened to Harry Reid talk about his so-called neutrality, and the rise in his voice as he remarks that President Clinton called him. "The small town boy made good and now receives calls from ex-presidents pride in his voice" was telling for me.
Carry on.
