since when is a post about Mental Health Parity, not on topic to a post about suicide?

I don't appreciate you sending a post about an issue I have worked on many years that relates directly to this issue to the watercooler/shredder.

I ran a shelter for homeless Vets as Vietnam was winding down and I know more about this issue firsthand than you will ever read.

mental health off topic to to a post about suicide? you have to be kidding me

- Tried, Susan. It told me I'd already recommended it, would I like to unrecommend? Bozoes. . . .

- Diluting the conversation

By Subway Serenade on Jul 30, 2008 9:09 PM EDT

Now we're all trying to continue the conversation across several open threads. Thankful did us a great service by returning the open thread. Now we have to figure out how to maintain the ebb and flow of the conversation in a coherent manner.

I'd suggest having the entire conversation posted in the main threads continuously, but hey, I'm just a street musician...

59t13927

- Yeah too many open threads now. LOL watch what you ask for :)

Just proves we are doers and not slackers ;)

- Good pic of Dean hopefully.

By floridagal . on Jul 30, 2008 10:44 PM EDT

I am trying to post a picture. Using the html code from bootrib...wishing me luck. No toolbar, so trying this.

"Gov. Howard Dean, left, Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, talks with Leah Daughtry, CEO of the Democratic National Convention, during a tour of the Pepsi Center in Denver on Wednesay, July 23, 2008. The first three days of the national convention are scheduled to be held at the Pepsi Center with the final night and Obama's acceptance speech being held at Invesco Field."

167t236061

- Yay for me. It worked.

By floridagal . on Jul 30, 2008 10:47 PM EDT

First time on the new blog I could get a picture.

Okay, now I have a tool bar for this post.  When I click the image thingy,  it opens and then goes blank.

Gonna try the same way and practice to see if the pic will appear by using html

<img src="http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a186/brc433/deanpepsicenter.jpg">

Fingers crossed.

167t236061

- Well, then if I have a toolbar I can't post a picture.

OK, now we all know that you consider this blog YOUR personal blog and you can diss any views you don't like...You're running this blog like a dictator and are supposed to be an impartial hired hand. I also think you completely disappear the posts you don't personally like...

Thanks, Anni, for this link.

And please bloggers, decide who's going to run the daily open thread...and it would be helpful if it were posted at the same time each day. Perhaps an AM and a PM thread and we can all just stay there if we want. The lack of continuity and the inability to act together to get things done is breathtaking. There's a total breakdown of communication. And Danny, all becuz of you.

Suggest Thankful be the one to post the Open Threads -- Rich's don't get rec'd up but Thankful's do -- am sure this is just one of the little quirky prejudices of 'DFA Staff' playing favorites.

Anni, the first time I went to the 3 pm wc at your suggestion, it was filled with good stuff.  Go read it now....he's disappearing us.  This is mindless censorship ...he's got so many threads that he can disappear our posts and we wouldn't know it.  Except that NOW WE DO.

For all we know, he's not allowing people he doesn't like to post at all.  If I stop posting, it's becuz he's preventing it.

Paranoid?  You bet...with these blogestapo tactics, you bet.  Next step is to prevent any of us from posting an open thread.

Condescending was too kind a word for his reply.  The thing that's very troubling is that he knows the chaos he's creating...we keep telling him...and he doesn't listen or care.  Instead, he puts up red signs ordering us about.  Frankly, I think he's enjoying the power trip.

- I don't see any difference now from when I read it earlier, sea. Don't know what you're talking about.

By seashell on Jul 31, 2008 1:38 AM EDT

I was confusing the 3pm with the 6pm.  I had posted on one of them and it got rolled over immediately into either the 6pm or the 9pm.  This is crazy-making.

thankful, if you read this....In a democracy, if a dictator tries to grab power, the people throw him/her out.  Are you suggesting that it would be more democratic to allow him to continue tightening the noose and ordering us about and...oh I get it now.  Danny's "THE DECIDER!   I thought the message was clear...follow the will of the majority or look for another job.

This bush dicatorship seems to be *catching on* in many other areas of our lives.

breaking up the post due to the comment order.

Argentina police do not have/use tasers.  I never even saw a gun...a club hanging off the belt maybe.  And they have huge protest marches...almost every day...those people are verbal and visible.  The police prefer not to get involved and usually don't, but this thing over taxation was a biggie for the whole country.  People got hurt.

********************

This blog is so ruined that we can't even have a conversation with our own selves.  LOL  We have to split up our own posts.  Maybe that's a good thing; who knows?

Is this where we're posting tonight?

Mental note to self:  Call local police and ask if tasers are standard equipment.

By rich^kolker on Jul 31, 2008 7:33 AM EDT

...I will lay off and let Thankful post the Open Threads.

Of course, anyone who wants to do a subject post and also declare it Open is to be thanked.
