Pasadena DFA Endorses Russ Warner in the CA 26th Congressional District

Pasadena DFA isn't satisfied working just in its own CA 29th Congressional District. No, we want to help a neighboring and very red district go blue. The CA 26th Congressional District has been represented for too long by a 25 year Rupublican incumbent - David Dreier. This year will be his last year representing this district!

Pasadena DFA is endorsing Democrat, Russ Warner, for Congress in the CA 26th Congressional District!

Pasadena DFA is proud to endorse Russ Warner and we did so by holding our March chapter meeting several cities to the east in Monrovia - heart of the CA 26th. We believe in expanding the progressive community in the San Gabriel Valley and this was a great way to show it.

We had 30 people come out to hear our endorsement and get introduced to a great candidate. Russ talked about why he is running. With a son who served 17 months in Iraq, Russ knows we have to end the war in Iraq! He will end the rubber-stamp Republican representation in the CA 26th that saw Dreier vote with President Bush over 90% of the time. Russ is a local business owner with strong roots in this community and we are looking forward to going to work for him!

Before the meeting started with Russ, we also did a half hour letter-writing action on voter protection.  We wrote to local, state and national representatives for our state.  The stance we took with on this issue was:

"Paper ballots are a fundamental right of every voter. Not a paper 'trail' or a paper 'record,' but a paper ballot. Nothing is more essential to our democracy than the accuracy of our elections, and the confidence among our electorate that we are assured a true ballot for every vote."

We wrote 55 letters!! We've written over 100 letters to our local, state and congressional representatives in the last two chapter meetings!

It was a fun, informative, and productive March Chapter Meeting for Pasadena DFA out in the San Gabriel Valley!
