Shoring up the DNC

Dear fellow Democrats,

As I’m sure you’re all aware, Gov. Dean is under fire (again!) at the DNC, this time for insisting that Florida and Michigan wait and allow the credentials committee to decide whether to seat their delegates,  or submit to a re-vote sanctioned under DNC rules.

First having failed to ‘Play by the Rules’ by holding their State Primaries in January (ahead of the time allowed by the DNC), and then insisting that the Party seat the 366 delegates from the two states whose delegate selection plans violated party rules (which were agreed to by the full DNC — including representatives from Florida and Michigan — more than 18 months ago), Donors from these states are now threatening to rescind contribution pledges to the DNC and worse, demanding that the DNC return sizeable contributions unless their unauthorized State Primaries are counted in the seating of delegates to the Democratic National Convention.

What can we do? We can help counter the financial impact of these renegades’ blackmail of the Party by helping to raise offsetting contributions from the grassroots.  In $20, $40, $100 dollar increments, we can silence their bark and allow the Democratic National Committee, who has led the unparalleled renaissance of the Democratic Party under the leadership of Gov. Dean,  to continue its important work in helping to elect a Democrat to the White House later this year.

Do it today and help spread the word.

I actually support the actons of anyone that opposes disenfranchising the voters like the DNC is doing. The states moved the primaries, but was it republican administrations that moved to hurt the democratic party?..

Mr. Harked,

Nobody should allowed to show their ignorance like that in public. It's just plain embarrassing.

Though Howard is always first as Susan wrote, the whining losing Clintonites of Florida and Michigan are always dead last!

Mr. Harker - you need to understand that EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT IN THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE VOTED WITH THE REPUBLICANS TO MOVE THEIR PRIMARY DATE.  they may claim that they 'had to do it' because Florida has a 'republican-led legislature', but the truth is, they had one ammendemnt to move the date to one that would not violate the DNC rules and only ONE PERSON VOTED FOR IT, the rest voted against the ammendment.  then they promptly, unanimously voted to hold their primary outside of the DNC rules.

you see, Bill Nelson and some others in Florida don't like Howard Dean.  and they don't like the fact that these uppity followers of his are getting involved in local politics at all levels and challenging their status.  they challenged Howard and they fully expected him to cave in and seat their delegates in spite of their disenfranchisement of their own voters in Florida. it's a dangerous game that Florida is playing...

This mess will be the undoing of the entire party if you dont count those votes in FL and MI. (Can you say "Democrats for Mc Cain")  Look at the big picture. Hillary wants her votes counted. It isnt selfish. It isnt cheating. She could've removed her name from the ballot. They all could have!!   There needs to be a resolution to this before crowning Obama the winner. To do so afterwards will only allow the Clinton supporters to say she was cheated & railroaded by the left wing nutjobs of her own party. Count the votes. Give her the delegates. Watch Obama maintain his lead. Finish what you started in the Senate and the Congress. (Majority rules) Party preservation means counting all the votes. Choosing the nominee based on delegate count, and keeping the loser from looking like a "loser". Sore or otherwise.

Reality check.  Most white people will vote for Mc Cain over Obama regardless of the economy or Iraq. To say otherwise makes you a liar, or me stupid for believing you. I dont say this to be racist, or hurtful. I say it to be truthful
