DFA: “Troubling to see Senator Cardin betray constituents, oppose the Iran Deal.”

Democracy for America Executive Director Charles Chamberlain on Sen. Cardin's pledge to vote against the Iran Deal:

“After Barbara Mikulski’s bold, game-changing vote to support the Iran deal, it’s deeply troubling to see Senator Cardin betray his constituents and stand in the way of diplomacy. Given his opposition to the war in Iraq, Cardin's short-sighted cave to the moneyed interests' intent on putting us on the path to war is profoundly disappointing.

"Fortunately, enough Democrats have been wise enough to support the deal that Cardin's opposition to diplomacy is likely to carry exceedingly little weight within the Democratic caucus this Fall, and, in the weeks ahead, DFA and its allies will continue to work to ensure that's the case.”  -- Charles Chamberlain, Executive Director, Democracy for America
