Philadelphia District Attorney
Help elect Larry
Larry Krasner is running for Philadelphia District Attorney to fundamentally change the current culture of the District Attorney’s office, transform the criminal justice system, and challenge the systemic racism and economic injustice of mass incarceration. That means ending cash bail, which puts people in jail just for being poor, and disproportionately harms people of color. It means ending racist police practices like stop and frisk. It means holding police accountable - refusing to prosecute cases where evidence was obtained improperly and by holding officers to the same legal standards as everyone else. Krasner is also the candidate in the race with a proven track record and lifelong opposition to the death penalty.
His career encompasses 30 years of fearlessly standing up for justice and fair treatment on behalf of clients of every stripe. His clients have included defendants arrested for free speech activity (e.g. members of all the following groups: ACT-UP, Heeding God’s Call, RNC 2000 protesters, Occupy Philly, DNC 2016 protesters, Casino-Free Philadelphia, disability rights protesters, Reclaim Philadelphia, Dream Act immigration rights activists, anti-death penalty protesters, KWRU, Black Lives Matter, Philadelphia public school activists, Earth Quaker Action Team, Grannies for Peace, etc.) He is a passionate defender of free speech and a believer in the power and value of protest.
