A resident of Berwyn for 36 years, Marge Paul has successfully served the 3rd Ward as Alderman since 2009. Known as an independent voice and watchdog on the Berwyn City Council, Marge has been an advocate for the citizens of Berwyn on everything from responsible business development to flood prevention. In 2012, she uncovered an error in the tax levy language that would have raised already high taxes in Berwyn by 11 percent.
Marge is also an activist who is involved in a number of organizations, including the ACLU, Southern Poverty Law Center, Lamda Education and Legal Defense Fund, and the Oak Park Area Lesbian and Gay Association. In Berwyn, she is a member of St. Leonard Parish, the Berwyn Historical Society Board of Directors, the Berwyn United Neighborhood Gay and Lesbian Organization Board of Directors, the All Berwyn Committee, and the Officer Selection Committee.
Marge earned her law degree from the John Marshall Law School, and is licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois and the 7th Circuit Federal Court. She is in charge of licensing and regulatory compliance for a multi-state property management firm in the western suburbs.
