Larry Disch became interested in local politics shortly after moving to Berwyn in 1999 and has worked as a volunteer in three local elections. He holds a master’s degree in counseling psychology and spent a long career in a variety of mental health-related positions. Most of his professional career he dedicated to publicly funded social work through a number of institutions. Forced into early retirement because of state budget cuts, Larry now serves on the pastoral team at St. Giles Family Mass Community, where he has been a member for more than 30 years. He also volunteers for PADS, a homeless outreach organization.
Larry and his wife, a bilingual teacher in a neighboring suburb, have been married for 17 years and share four adult children. He is raising his grandson who is in 2nd grade at Irving Elementary.
