Democracy for America Announces DFA-List
Second Non-Federal Candidate Endorsement List of 2006
BURLINGTON, VT -- Today, Democracy for America (DFA) announced more additions to its DFA-List, Candidates for America. These candidates share DFA's values of fiscal responsibility, social progress and grassroots engagement. They are dedicated to fighting to take our country back by working for change from the ground up.
"These candidates are truly dedicated to putting America back on the right track," said Jim Dean, chair of Democracy for America. "Their years of grassroots activism and commitment to positive change make them ideal candidates to serve in our city and state governments. We are proud to put DFA's support behind them."
The DFA-List Candidates are:
Deval Patrick for Governor of Massachusetts. Patrick has earned the support of DFA members across Massachusetts by empowering people to participate in the democratic process. He will fight to strengthen the state's education and health care systems; and work to bridge the gap between economic development and environmental stewardship by supporting the development of renewable energy in Massachusetts. http://www.devalpatrick.com/
Marian Harris for Ohio State House. Marian Harris has been a long-time DFA organizer committed to making DFA-Central Ohio into one of the central pillars of the progressive movement. Now she's taking the next step by running for the Ohio State House in District 19.
