BURLINGTON, VT -- Today, Democracy for America (DFA) endorsed Madison Nguyen for City Council of San Jose, California -- making her the newest member of the DFA-List, Candidates for America.

Madison Nguyen has truly lived the American dream. Thirty years ago, she and her family risked their lives escaping the Vietnam War in order to come to the United States. In 2002, Madison became the first Vietnamese woman elected to public office in California. As President of the Board of Education in her district, Madison has fought hard to ensure that students have the necessary resources available to them.
