Democracy for America Endorses Andrew Rice for the United States Senate

BURLINGTON, VT -- Democracy for America, our nation's largest progressive political action organization, has endorsed Andrew Rice’s campaign for the United States Senate.
 
"Andrew Rice has a proven record in the Oklahoma State Senate having worked on issues like health care, veteran’s rights, and the environment.  Democracy for America is proud to endorse his campaign," said Jim Dean, Chair of DFA.  "Andrew’s opponent, James Inhofe, has lost touch with the needs of his constituents and reality.  In James Inhofe, you have a guy who denies global warming, calls environmentalists ‘Nazis’, and thinks it’s fine for our government to torture people.”
 
Andrew Rice is a state Senator and community leader who can bring real change to Oklahoma and fix Washington.  Andrew was inspired to become involved in government and politics after his brother was murdered during the horrific events of September 11th.  He believes our country is going in the wrong direction and is ready to do all he can to be a voice for Oklahomans. 
 
In the Oklahoma State Senate, Andrew Rice has been a leader on the issues that affect the lives of real people.  In Washington, he will be a leader on key issues like providing all Americans access to excellent health care, ensuring we respect the sacrifices made by our brave men and women in uniform, and protecting families from failed Republican economic policies.

Democracy for America is the key endorsement in this race, bringing donations from progressives and providing volunteers to participate in door-to-door, grassroots outreach.  The DFA Training Academy has trained tens of thousands of activists across the country in the strategies and tactics of successful campaigns and will be coming to Norman, Oklahoma this weekend.
