The White House's plan to reduce gun deaths takes a comprehensive approach to a problem that has plagued our country for far too long. Now is the time to begin enforcing universal background checks and to close the gun show loophole. It's time to reinstate a ban on military-style assault weapons. And we must increase funding for school safety, and prioritize mental health treatment.
