After allowing student interest rates to jump to 6.8% -- adding thousands of dollars to the cost of college -- the Senate's latest attempt at "reform" doesn't just ignore the problem. It actually makes things worse, allowing interests to rise even further, punishing students in the name of deficit reduction.
It's an absolute joke. Congress already gouges our students for profit, while giving away money to Wall Street banks. Now they want to double down on their misguided efforts by raising student loan rates even higher.
Enough is enough. Our student's are our future -- not our piggybanks. Tell your Senator: Don't gouge our students with higher interest rates.
