The United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 27, in partnership with The Maryland DEMOCRATIC Party and several members of DEMOCRACY for America in Baltimore, will host the ONLY Middle Atlantic stop on the "Change WAL*MART, Change America" tour 3.August. The rally will take place at the edge of Broening Park/Middle Branch Park (2875 South Hanover Drive, Baltimore, Maryland 21225) - just north of Harbor Hospital Center and just southwest of the gargantuan WAL*MART/Sam's Club complex at Port Covington and southeast of the Hanover Street bridge. The political rally on corporate responsibility and accountability will showcase several candidates for office this Autumn. Candidates for U.S. Senate, former Congressperson Kweisi Mfume, Congressman Ben Cardin, and Dr. Allan Lichtman; Jim DEAN, Chairman, DEMOCRACY for America; Terry Lierman, Chairman, Maryland DEMOCRATIC Party; and Duchy Trachtenberg, President, Maryland N.O.W., are all scheduled to speak. The rally will focus on Governor Ehrlich's very close relationship with WAL*MART executives -- how they have contributed to Ehrlich's re-election campaign -- and how their combined corruption and negligence have hurt Maryland's hard-working, middle-class families.
