Hillary delivered an amazing speech at the convention last night. I would declare the speech last evening as Hillary's best ever. There was something very different about Hillary last night. She was filled with passion and sincerity. Her words to her supporters were clear and forceful. Her words were exciting and motivating. Her words were even inspiring.
I was not a Hillary supporter throughout the primaries. I'm not even sure I liked Hillary during the campaign. However, I liked the Hillary I saw last night. Why? Because her words were impressive.
During the campaign Obama was at times criticized because his greatest asset seemed to be his words. Many said words alone weren't worth much.
I hope Hillary noticed what happened last evening at the convention. I hope everyone in the world took notice as well. Last night Hillary proved just how much words alone do matter. Words have the power to initiate change. Words have the power to offer hope.
President Obama is going to set a new tone for America and maybe even the entire world. There will be a new "yes we can" spirit. There will, once again, be hope. There will be change.
Hillary was brilliant last night, and Bill was very, very strong tonight. It's good to have this powerful team on board!
I hate the talking heads, chattering over the important speeches. Words do matter, but these guys - not so much!

I had heard that John Legend was debuting a new song at the convention, but I guess I missed it.
The song is called If You're Out There and it is one of the most inspirational songs I have ever heard. This should be one of Obama's campaigns songs. It's available on iTunes.
Hoping for adhesion. Busy time to be a living, breathing, thinking Democrat. Door-to- door are listening now. Fellow sufferers at the gaspumps are beginning to maybe doubt rush and savage. Gather Thursday with neighbors, friends and a Republican or two to watch the continuation of the dream. There will be a Joyous day in November and a helluva clean-up task the next few years if we seize the present opportunity to take this great nation back.
Be strong. Be smart. Be active. The page turns Now!
Kerry was fabulous. I followed him for many years and heard him speak many times. During the 2004, he seemed to lack passion and heat as he tried to be a statesman at all times.
Last night he said screw it and went after McCain harder then he ever went after W or his minions. A magnificant, edgy speech where he lampooned the straight talk express as just another train wreck.
Usually Senators don't go after other Senators. Not this year!
If Kerry had this heat in 2004, we would be talking about his second term.
Kerry would be a great choice for Secretary of State as the Massachusets governor is a Democrat and would appoint another Democrat to take his place.
Bill Clinton was given the foreign affairs topic. That is a nice topic fro a former President, but it isn't his best topic. He is at his best when he jumps hard on populist issues. As much as I dislike both Hillary and Bubba, Bill had the knack of dragging you along with his message. He didn't do that last night.
all-in-all, a rather lackluster performance. The primaries are over and it is time to unleash Bubba on the Repubs.
He strayed off topic, but what he did was to solidify and amplify Hillary's "Home Run" of Tuesday night. I was on the edge of my chair, and treasured every word--vintage Clinton, and a great boost for Obama.
The convention went gaga with appreciation. Good for his ego, and for the campaign as a whole
myDD ?
Is Dean and Deval -- the foundation blocks upon which how to run an election, and the way to inspire people, was built.
Obama is standing on the shoulders of all who have proudly stood before and continue to stand today. Hillary and Bill's shoulders are included too (Bill, you've won my respect back and matches that of Hillary's for me).
As Thomas J so effectively has stated here on this blog, words do matter.
We're ALL daring chaps here on this blog and I'm so proud of the long journey we have been on, through thick and thin, not giving up, through all these past five years here on this blog.
We've dared to dream a second time.
So, myDD can also be looked at as - Dared to Dream.
It's been a great week so far.
Today, with Al and Barack scheduled to speak, what can I say, except WOW !
Bill had moments of magic last night. There were many workmanlike spots where he was grinding it out. He was given a hard topic as foreign policy is not his strong motivational suit. He gave an above level speech in a topic most are sick of.
I guess we agree to disagree.
It deosn't matter anyway.
For all their faults, the considerable Clinton power has been behind Obama since the primary season was over. Hillary has been giving speeches for quite a while in support of Barack. They will be supportive and will do what they can do elect Barack. The
They understand the ramifications of a McCain presidency. They have done everything they can to convince their followers to support Barack.
To the stubborn Hillaryites...She is asking them to support the Democratic Party, not her.
The perceived Obam-Clinton fued is over. No one really cares about Bill's hurt feelings. We have moved on to the general election.
were on full display. This is the Party of all those speakers and all of us as well, and with a small mark on a ballot all of that impressive crew will be working for you to make a better America.
This isn't just about Barack, because it is he that says "we". He will succeed tonight to the extent he makes this election about all of us and the future.
He is the nominee because he has been able to best articulate that message. America is the country where we dream and dare, and make it happen.
The Paul Wellstone formula ... love with just a little carburation of anger at the injustices that still exist leading to action
Be a part. Volunteer. America can turn a page of history in November for as Barack said four years ago in that speech that launched him: "We are one America"
what a country that can be if we are freed from our past to the promise of what can be

- Words Matter II
By Thomas Janowski on Aug 27, 2008 10:03 PM EDTIt was no surprise to me that Bill Clinton's speech would be excellent. Heck, I've always wondered why the "great communicator" title wasn't officially passed on from Reagan to Clinton since Clinton is far better at communicating. But again, Bill was awesome. It's hard to say who might have been better--Bill or Hillary.
Then there was John Kerry. His speech was incredible as well. What is up with our Democrats? It feels like everyone is focused and serious about electing Obama.
And the words are so important because everyone's words are filling me with more and more hope.
Words do matter.
