Rural Policy Organizer and/or Rural Online Organizer & Writer

The Center for Rural Affairs of Lyons, NE is seeking two individuals to engage in grassroots organizing, online organizing and policy advocacy to build a better future for rural America.

Both positions will address federal rural policy, entrepreneurial rural development, and especially federal health care reform. Health care reform is crucial for family farmers and ranchers, rural small business owners and rural development that supports asset building for low-income individuals.

Responsibilities will be focused on organizing and motivating rural people to act on behalf of federal legislation that supports our objectives. The range of organizing approaches will include grassroots meetings, grassroots leadership development, mobilizing response to action alerts, nationwide online organizing, and other means.

Working at the Center for Rural Affairs offers the opportunity to work in support of our highest values – fairness, responsibility, genuine opportunity for all, stewardship of land and water and widespread ownership and control of farms and businesses - while living in a rural community.

Organizational Vision: The leading force engaging people and ideas in securing a better future for rural America.

Georgia's rural inhabitants should join in with a similar effort.
