Jim Pistorius, a Progressive Democrat from Aurora IL, is formally announcing his candidacy for Illinois’ 14^th district U.S. House of Representatives seat in the February 2, 2010 primary election. The district includes Kane, Kendall, Dekalb, Lee, Whiteside and Henry Counties.

Jim says, “The people of the 14^th district have spoken. Now it’s time to have someone in office who will listen. When a king didn’t listen to his people across an ocean; there were some who said now is not a good time to change things.  A group of patriots stood up and said now is the time.”

Jim will operate his campaign as a grassroots candidate. He has begun his petition drive to secure his name on the ballot for the primary election in February 2010. Jim will be that leader we all want and deserve. He will fight for our children to receive a free college education; energy that is not dependent on oil; immigration reform that is fair both to the undocumented resident and to the citizens of this great country. He will champion efforts to bring back jobs to the 14^th district; and finally, he will fight to make government open and transparent to all our citizens.
