Preen Your Wings, Get Ready to Fly!

What kind of Health Care Reform we can expect to see is not settled by any means. But I think all of us; whether single payer or public option proponents know, we will back whatever plan comes out of Congress that the President feels comes closest to fitting his expectations.

Truly the enemy is not within the ranks of those espousing the various types of Health Care Reform. The enemies are those in Congress who want No Health Care Reform at all. That’s who we have to squelch.

Our featured speaker July 1st will be Dan Herman the Missouri State Director for Organizing for America. This is the group that is spearheading the grass roots effort in support of the President on Health Care Reform. Dan is not a policy wonk. He’s not going to try to sway you on how the plan should be fashioned. Instead, he will show us what we need to do now in preparation for the day Obama needs our help to get legislation passed.

Years ago I heard this analogy: organizations & people are kind of like geese. While on the ground geese peck each other, squawk and squabble and that’s ok. What makes a flock of geese successful in flight, is when it’s time to fly, everybody gets in formation and they take off together. Dan will be here to show us how to get in formation and ready to fly.

Robin Carnahan has already launched her campaign to fill the Senate seat being vacated by “Kit”. Robin has shown herself to be an open handed servant of the people as well as a keep politician. Bryan Crawford, Robin’s man about our town will also be with us to let us know what’s going on at Camp Carnahan in KC. And what you can do to help Robin win that Senate seat.

We want to give Robin and Bryan as much help as possible. Daddy Blunt is eyeing that seat and we certainly don’t need another Republican, especially a Blunt in the Senate.
