Attend the MTA Board Meeting on Thursday, April 24th, 9:30 a.m.

As some of you are aware from our recent tabling efforts at the Rose Bowl, South Pasadena Farmers Market and the Pasadena Farmers Market, we are working to support the extension of the Gold Line. We've gotten a hundred or more of our fellow San Gabriel Valley neighbors to send post cards and letters to the MTA Board.

Now we need you to help give us a physical presence at the board meeting that will ultimately decide the Gold Line Extension's fate.

This board meeting will determine if this proposed extension will get budgeted into the long term MTA transportation plan. It's going to be our opportunity to show support for the Foothill Extension. We'll do this by speaking directly to Metro Board members during the Public Comment period (one minute maximum), or if you prefer, by just being in the audience to support those who do speak on behalf of the project.

The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. in the Board Room at:

The current Metro Gold Line will take you directly to Union Station which is adjacent and a short walking distance to the MTA Headquarters Building. Parking at the Sierra Madre Villa Station is free; the trip takes approximately 35 minutes from Sierra Madre Villa to Union Station. We need to convey a clear message to Metro Staff and Board of Directors that the time is right, the project is ready, and the opportunity to extend light rail into the San Gabriel Valley with immediate federal support cannot be passed by.

Folks, this is where the rubber hits the road on working to get real and tangible good things for our community. We need you to make a small sacrifice in time to help put us over the hump on this. You won't regret being part of a little history and I know it will empower you experiencing first-hand the kind of activist work we offer you an opportunity to plug into every month with Pasadena DFA.
