Guest speaker: Barry Gordon
Pasadena resident Barry Gordon is an actor and former president of the Screen Actors Guild. He was SAG's longest-serving president, and has performed in films, on television, and on the stage, most recently appearing as a recurring character on Curb Your Enthusiasm. Barry ran for Congress twice in the 29th district against Republican James Rogan, and has been active in the progressive community for many years. He was host of Barry Gordon From Left Field, a weekly progressive radio show on KCAA Radio in Loma Linda, and currently is host of NewsRap, a widely watched local public access cable television show that airs on the Pasadena community access channel 56. He is an alum of California State University, Los Angeles, and is a past president of its Alumni Association. Barry will discuss the positive effects the CSU has had on the state's economy, the negative impacts of the proposed cuts, the progress of the Alliance for the CSU, and how we can help.
