Bell for Delegate

Who am I?

I am a retired Air Force Officer who served for almost 26-years. I worked as a Finance Officer and have solved challenging financial situations and have led groups as a deployed Comptroller in the Middle East in support of operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. I worked extensively with the Obama Campaign as a Canvassing Captain and I have trained hundreds of people to go door-to-door. I am married and the proud father of 5 children. I work for a non-profit organization providing financial expertise to the U.S. Government and volunteer as a High School Tennis Coach in my neighborhood.

Why am I running?

I believe our current delegate is focused on the wrong issues and seeks to legislate his personal extreme religious views at the detriment of his district.

My Goals

Transportation, Economic Development and Education Improvement.

My DFA Values

I believe in a government that has constant and vibrant community involvement and outreach. My campaign will seek to empower and involve community members in the campaign and governing process. I have served as a volunteer coach at Freedom HS since 2008 and I believe the best way to learn and improve a community is to be involved at our schools. I will focus on "everyday issues" and my goal is to bring a moderate approach to Richmond and to make common sense common practice again in Virginia.

My Campaign is People Powered!

Grassroots organizing will be the central focus of our campaign. From my experience with the Obama Campaign I strongly believe the key element must be door-to-door voter contact. I have continued my involvement with many of the people who I worked along with in the Obama campaign and we plan to reach out to voters as never before in a House of Delegate race.

About the Endorsement Process

All campaigns seeking a DFA endorsement are first required to complete the endorsement application in order to be considered. Members of the DFA Political team will review applications after submission and make endorsement decisions on a rolling basis throughout the applicable election cycle.

The driving force behind all DFA endorsements is our membership. We gauge DFA member support in a number of different ways. For starters, supporters can publicly show their support on any candidate’s application page. We also utilize endorsement decisions of local DFA groups as a measure of local community support. Finally, if you know a candidate deserving of a DFA endorsement who hasn’t yet applied, we want to hear about them! Please visit the Endorsement FAQ page for answers to frequently asked questions about our endorsement process.

If you still have any questions, or want to let us know about a candidate in your neighborhood, please call us at (802) 651-3200 or email us at [email protected] .
