Who am I?

Born:1966 - Erie, Pennsylvania Recreation: Volunteer activities, animal welfare, basketball, music, theater
It has been my pleasure and privilege to serve in the Nevada State Assembly and now in the Nevada State Senate. I have grown up in the area that I have been representing and have called Nevada home now into my 4th decade. I find that representing my friends and neighbors is without a doubt extremely personal to me, and quite an honor!

Why am I running?

My unwavering commitment to my community never ends. Not even when the legislative session concludes, and in fact, I have found that this is when the hardest work begins. It is of great importance to me to continue, and maintain the one-on-one personal contact that I have spent years establishing. Some of the numerous ways that I continually stay in touch with my community is by attending PTA meetings, school events, town board meetings, community graffiti & cleanup removal events, along with HOA meetings, manufactured homeowner meetings, social events, plus I personally hold community awareness, informational and get together social events, just to name a few. I have also mailed out opinion cards and have received back hundreds of responses designed to gauge the district on the important issues that residents face. Anyone that has known me over the years realizes that I indeed continue to have the "pulse" of the area.

Nevada faces many challenges and I wish to continue my hard work and dedication on the issues that matter the most to the people. This is why I am running for re-election to the Nevada State Senate in District 21. For years I have been reaching out to people, that have contacted me, beyond my own district and have responded to every single person who has contacted the legislature from Senate District 21. I have an impressive base built up even before the campaign season begins.

My Goals

My legislative record pretty much speaks for itself but I will continue working on public safety and transportation related topics. Supporting public education and educators along with our hard working state employees.

My DFA Values

I have always expressed the values of community, security and liberty as not only my legislative record reflects that but also my volunteer work that I proudly do.

My Campaign is People Powered!

I take great pride in the dedicated grass roots organization I have cultivated over the years. Not only do I have a wonderful group of loyal volunteers who allow me to stretch their services beyond their limits, but I also walk my entire district to meet as many residents as I can in person. This commitment to the people is just as important to me as it was when I first ran for public office. My past elections has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that grass roots politics can and does make all the difference in the world.

State Senate 21 is the seat of the people and I ask you to put my hard work, dedication to our neighborhood and community to work for those in Senate District 21 representing them in Carson City once again!

About the Endorsement Process

The driving force behind all DFA endorsements is our members. We recognize that all politics is local and that what is considered progressive in Los Angeles may be very different from what's considered progressive in Louisville. For this reason, DFA does not have a litmus test of specific progressive positions for which a candidate must stand. Our endorsement is heavily weighted based on these questions:

• Will the candidate move the progressive movement forward in their community?
• Does the candidate have substantial support from our local members?
• Do the candidate's positions and policies fit into the broader progressive movement?
• Is the campaign people-powered and the candidate working to win?

If you have questions, or want to let us know about a candidate in your neighborhood, please call us at (802) 651-3200 or email us at [email protected] .
