Who am I?

I'm proud to have been endorsed by DFA in the past and am seeking endorsement again. I have championed progressive values with DFA from day one, and continue by volunteering with the local Democratic Party as well as furthering LGBT equality locally and statewide in Texas.

I'm 37 years old and live with my wonderful husband Jimmy and our dog Cooper in a middle class exurban community north of Dallas. I'm a logistics professional by trade, with a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina in Political Science and Geography.

Why am I running?

I'm running for re-election to continue the positive results that the Board of Directors has accomplished over the last 4 years. Our constituents deserve local representation from people who live in their neighborhood and can understand the challenges of living in an exurban unincorporated community.

My Goals

Continue to hold the tax rate the same.
Continue to increase the tax base.
Push for greater safety in the community.

These have been the main priorities of our board over the last 4 years and we continue to make progress and achieve success.

My DFA Values

My first primary vote was for Howard Dean a decade ago and I have been a DFA member since its inception. Progressive values and equality have been at the top of my list of things to promote here in Texas.

My Campaign is People Powered!

My network of progressives online and around the community have supported me in and out of my elected position, just as I have with them.

About the Endorsement Process

The driving force behind all DFA endorsements is our members. We recognize that all politics is local and that what is considered progressive in Los Angeles may be very different from what's considered progressive in Louisville. For this reason, DFA does not have a litmus test of specific progressive positions for which a candidate must stand. Our endorsement is heavily weighted based on these questions:

• Will the candidate move the progressive movement forward in their community?
• Does the candidate have substantial support from our local members?
• Do the candidate's positions and policies fit into the broader progressive movement?
• Is the campaign people-powered and the candidate working to win?

If you have questions, or want to let us know about a candidate in your neighborhood, please call us at (802) 651-3200 or email us at [email protected] .
