Jamie Eldridge for State Senate

Background:

Jamie Eldridge has been a State Representative since 2002, the only elected official in Massachusetts who victoriously ran via Clean Elections. Previous to his time as State Representative, Jamie was a public interest lawyer for low-income communities.

Goals:

Jamie is running to further invest in the workforce and the infrastructure of our communities, to ensure that everyone has economic opportunity, and to protect our communities' environment and quality of life.

Issues:

Economy: job creation & workforce development
Local aid: increasing assistance from the state to cities & towns in order to enhance public education and public safety and stave off property tax increases
Enhanced quality of life: making health care more affordable & protecting our environment

Grassroots Support:

Grassroots organizing will play a very large role in the campaign. Jamie is very well known in the northern portion of the State Senate district, towns that he currently represents as State Rep. The southern portion of the district will see an intense door-to-door and phone outreach campaign that has already begun in earnest.

Jamie has championed socially progressive issues throughout his political career, including universal health care and marriage equality for same-sex couples. Jamie's policies are also marked by fiscally responsibility and fiscal fairness. Jamie was one of the Legislature's leading voices in the recently successful legislative battle to close corporate tax loopholes.
