Cheryl Crist for Congress

Background:

I have a background in high school teaching, financial consulting, managing a not-for-profit agency, radio announcing and real estate. I was married to a fighter pilot during the Vietnam War. My son is active duty military. I would like to see the U.S. change its foreign policy away from domination and control of other countries to a policy of friendship and uplift, allowing for us to meet the needs of our compassionate and deserving civilian population.

Goals:

I want to go to Congress so I can help bring an end to U.S. wars of aggression and create a culture of peace domestically and internationally. I want to protect the planet and help create a world that works for everyone.

Issues:

1) Out of Iraq NOW.

2) Universal health care by expanding Medicare and providing it to everyone.

3) Stop global warming and protect the ecosystem of the planet.

Grassroots Support:

Grassroots organizing is central to my campaign. I will not accept corporate lobbyists' money.

DFA Values:

Socially progressive: I support equal rights for GLBTQ, reproductive rights for all women, free health care and free higher education.

Fiscally responsible: I believe in pay-as-you-go for most programs. When a new program is introduced there must be provided a way to pay for it. I like balanced budgets and budget surpluses. Personally, I am solvent and live within my means.
