Remember that YOUR Voice Matters!

Background:

I am a married father of three; two boys (3 and 2) and a daughter (4 months). I am US Air Force veteran, and carry with me today the core values instilled in my as a military member. I have a couple years of college education, but feel that common sense is much more imperative to achieve one's goals. I work in a unionized (Teamsters) plastics factory for the automotive industry.

Goals:

This is my first try at political office, but I am motivated because I know that I can make a difference! I believe that each citizen of America, whether a township, city, or village voter wants to have their voice heard. I feel that I possess the qualities and skills to listen to constituents and employ their desires to better the community. My goal is to become a Senator.

Issues:

Environmental.
Economical.
Reform.

Grassroots Support:

Because the small area of the community ( 12 square miles) it is imperative that my campaign be based on grassroots. Door knocking, cold calling, and emailing is a must in order to inform constituents of my campaign, as well as notifying them of my stances. I intend to knock on each door in the area introducing myself and holding "town hall" style meetings.

DFA Values:

I believe in the words of the Declaration of Independence, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, DERIVING THEIR POWERS FROM THE CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED." To me, simply put, each American, each citizen of every form of government has a voice they were given, and their voice must be listened too. The government for far too long now has forgotten the basic values this great sovereign land was founded on - "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." Each of us should be able to freely live the way we want, so long as it does not intrude on others and pursue life as we see it to make ourselves, family, and friends happy.

I believe that taxes should be for all individuals, not only the blue collar citizens. Government should remember that the voters are in their best interest, not "special interests." I also believe that we must provide for and care for ourselves, as a nation and community, before we knowingly and willingly commit mutiny against a sovereign nation!We have starving children, homeless bound, and sky-rocketing unemployment that in more important than oil, corporate tax breaks, and lobbyists. We must remember that in order to claim greatness as a nation, we must be a model nation of morals, character, values, economic stability, and fiscal responsiblity first. I also believe that America should be making American products for other nations, not the other way around.
