Elect Ceceilia Berkowitz

Who am I?

I wanted to write to introduce myself. I am a 34 year old resident of Manhattan, originally from North Jersey.
After taking several political tests and surveys, I found that even ideas I thought of as Republican for years in terms of Finance and Economics perspectives are still considered Democratic, and in the New York area we are likely to have friends interested in same sex marriage, abortion rights, and New Yorkers understand there are many unmarried New Yorkers who are young, working professonals. Therefore in this part of the country, I think it is impossible to be anything else other than a Democrat according to the true political party beliefs and surveys. I also think it is important to obey the law and respect the laws of the country you are in, so I paid for some legal advice via a campaign attorney before paying for PR or even beginning fundraising activites.

Why am I running?

I am running for NYC Mayor as of January 31st, with a good strategy to plan to win the election and improve the politics and functioning of New York. I have significant relevant work experiences, networking connections and knowlege, and relevant educational background. I also am in the process of assembling together a diverse and inclusive team of New Yorkers and other interested people. We are committed to continuing the Bloomberg Administration and also providing good political views which represent all sorts of New Yorkers by a commitment seek out their input now and later on.

After becoming good friends with Mayor Bloomberg over the last year and a half, people we know suggested to me the possibility of running for Mayor. I think this type of position encompasses the skills and knowledge I accumulated over the past twenty years or so. I would be interested in meeting with your organization and newly elected officers to be able to put together better Democratic political views.

My DFA Values

My first goal is the continued commitment from the Bloomberg Administration to lower crime rates. We want our community in every part of New York to be safe, neighborly, and enjoyable, without much threat of gun or other violence or terrorism.
The Bloomberg Adminstration lowered crime and murder rates significantly, and we plan to do the same and to also support the Mayors Against Illegal Guns Coalition.

Our second goal is a good commitment to public school education. This should be the right of all Americans to have a good education, and be able to learn to read, write, do math, and go beyond this to prepare for future jobs and college. This should also enrich the community, since educated children and neighbors are invaluable assets to any city.

My Campaign is People Powered!

I have already recruited several hundred people to my campaign via the www.internships.com website. We are diverse and inclusive, and are willing to work with volunteers to align their campaign work with their interests, time, availability, and professional interests. We have meetings, include all interested people, and socialize at parties as a team.

About the Endorsement Process

All campaigns seeking a DFA endorsement are first required to complete the endorsement application in order to be considered. Members of the DFA Political team will review applications after submission and make endorsement decisions on a rolling basis throughout the applicable election cycle.

The driving force behind all DFA endorsements is our membership. We gauge DFA member support in a number of different ways. For starters, supporters can publicly show their support on any candidate’s application page. We also utilize endorsement decisions of local DFA groups as a measure of local community support. Finally, if you know a candidate deserving of a DFA endorsement who hasn’t yet applied, we want to hear about them! Please visit the Endorsement FAQ page for answers to frequently asked questions about our endorsement process.

If you still have any questions, or want to let us know about a candidate in your neighborhood, please call us at (802) 651-3200 or email us at [email protected] .
