Who am I?
Gary's background has instilled in himself the right, like many others, to be called a patriot.
Gary was born in Texas and has spent most of his life in the state. He and his wife, Maggie, have called Lewisville their home for over 20 years. They raised Maggies son together and have two wonderful grandchildren.
Gary remembers what it was like growing up without much to call his own. He vowed never to live that life as an adult and strived to become a self-made man. He has been working since the age of 12 and understands the value of paying your own way. His blue collar background saw work as a machinist all the way up to a supervisor on major construction projects. His work helped build many of the homes and roads we now enjoy in the DFW area. He and his wife started Brown Remodeling in 2008 to become small business owners and support their own lives and their familys.
Garys stepson Mark served in the US Marine Corp for 8 years, serving as an Embassy Guard in Karachi Pakistan and in Kazakhstan. Later he was sent to fight in Iraq and was wounded, earning a Purple Heart.
Organizations close to Garys heart are the SPCA, The Fisher House, Disabled American Veterans, and the Paralyzed Veterans of the United States.
Why am I running?
A patriot is someone who loves, supports, and defends his country and its interests with devotion. A patriot also regards himself as a defender, especially of individual rights, against presumed interference by the federal government.
Gary wants to defend the people of Texas by supporting Democratic values in the state house.
My Goals
Gary believes education is the key to providing upward mobility for most Texans. The state, as well as corporations, should provide their fair share of education funding. Gary advocates for the use of the Rainy Day Fund to make up the difference for any shortfall in the Texas budget.
Gary is a small business owner and knows that success is the product of hard work and fair taxes. He believes that North Texas should leverage its low taxes, quality of life, and its position as a transportation hub to entice manufacturing jobs into the area. Promoting green technology is also key to job growth.
