Brausch for House

Who am I?

I am 60 years old, a mother and grandmother. I have worked in church ministry for 20 years and have been involved in justice issues for 30 years. I care deeply about people and I decided that I could do more good running for office than getting another petition signed or organizing another direct action or protest. Laws need to be re-written and new laws need to be passed to make this state a better place for regular folks to live and thrive.

Why am I running?

Im running for State Representative because I love this state and I love the people of this area which is my home. The people in Lansing, our representatives have made it pretty clear by the laws they have passed and the laws they are trying to pass, that they dont care much about the ordinary working people of this state or about the poor and the elderly either. I want to be their voice in Lansing.

My Goals

Get funding restored to public education and also to have the state recommit to vocational education/training.

Restore some of the cuts that have been done to programs that assist the poor children and families of the state and find ways to increase job training for those families.

My Campaign is People Powered!

There is no way we can match the money that is raised by my opponent so we have to win by "feet on the ground". We already have sent out one mailing to 250 of my friends which earned us 5000 dollars and over 70 donors and volunteers. We had a fundraiser a week ago and raised another 2000 dollars and got another 15 volunteers. Our volunteers are already involved in doing mailings, phone calls and one is watching the newspapers for events that I can atttend and get my message out.

The other plan is for us to visit as many area businesses and PTAs and other small groups as possible to get the word out - myself and other volunteers. We don't have media money but we can do this. We also have some volunteers who are going to produce YouTube advertisements that we can post once a month on our website and Facebook pages.

About the Endorsement Process

All campaigns seeking a DFA endorsement are first required to complete the endorsement application in order to be considered. Members of the DFA Political team will review applications after submission and make endorsement decisions on a rolling basis throughout the applicable election cycle.

The driving force behind all DFA endorsements is our membership. We gauge DFA member support in a number of different ways. For starters, supporters can publicly show their support on any candidate’s application page. We also utilize endorsement decisions of local DFA groups as a measure of local community support. Finally, if you know a candidate deserving of a DFA endorsement who hasn’t yet applied, we want to hear about them! Please visit the Endorsement FAQ page for answers to frequently asked questions about our endorsement process.

If you still have any questions, or want to let us know about a candidate in your neighborhood, please call us at (802) 651-3200 or email us at [email protected] .
