Jason Lorber for State Representative
| Name: | Jason Lorber for State Representative |
| Office: | State Representative |
| Website: | friendsofjason.org |
Background:
I'm a comedian. No, really. I perform standup comedy, as well acting on stage, TV, and film. I've also founded Aplomb Consulting (www.aplomb.com) which serves non-profit organizations and have an MBA from Stanford, and a BA from U.C. Berkeley.
My district encompasses the Old North End and downtown Burlington, including all of Church Street and the Waterfront.
Goals:
We must continue the work we did on healthcare. I'd like to help push us farther in providing affordable healthcare for ALL Vermonters.
Also, we need to address Vermont's spending addiction on prisons and jails.
For more information on these positions, and many others, please visit my blog at www.friendsofjason.blogspot.com.
Issues:
Providing affordable healthcare for all Vermonters.
Investing in society, not prisons.
Property taxes -- our taxation policies need to support more progressive taxation. If you have more money, you should pay more in taxes.
Grassroots Support:
It's all about the grassroots. Like the first time I ran for office, I'll be knocking on every door in my district.
DFA Values:
I helped lead the fight to pass a nondiscrimination bill protecting transgender Vermonters, helped increase the minimum wage, and voted for a balanced budget, while calling attention to our ever-growing spending addiction to prisons (while not making society safer).
