Background:

Each chapter of my life had
triumphs born out of struggle.
During high school, I became an Eagle Scout, college--an engineer, graduate school--a lawyer, most recently--a cancer survivor. Today I'm working to be the next Kansas State Representative.

Goals:

Political consultants today advise candidates to focus on only two or three issues and to raise tens-of-thousands of dollars. These hired-guns try to reduce the variables of the election-equation to package candidates in such a way they mimic Pez dispensers--spitting out rhetoric in the form of political pills. I'm tired of year after year, elections becoming a choice between the lesser of who cares. Elections have become a race to the bottom to see who can get elected by mumbling through their talking points and avoiding ever speaking of a vision. Candidates are so self-interested and caught up in winning, they forget about trying to promote the Common Good. And campaigns are so divisive, the public has no reason to vote for someone; people now choose a candidate simply… to vote against the other. I'm running to ensure we give our children a stronger, smarter, and safer Kansas than the one we inherited from our devoted parents.

Issues:

Ensuring economic prosperity for Kansas workers and businesses. Providing a high-quality public education for Kansas children. Reducing health care and prescription drug costs for Kansas families.

Grassroots Support:

Grassroots organizing will play a huge role in my campaign. I've been going door-to-door for months now. I'm walking 4-5 hours a night, 6 nights a week. I've gotten a nice tan and dropped 35 pounds. And I'll keep going door-to-door through Election Day. I will be focusing my efforts on hosting house parties 3-4 times a week because I feel neighbor-to-neighbor word-of-mouth is the best way to win over Independents and Republicans.

DFA Values:

I am a Liberal-to-Moderate Democrat. My liberal ideology supports an affordable, sustainable, and secure health care system, a robust pre-K through college public education system, and a green future for our children. And my moderate ideology wants more effective and efficient government, strong defense and police/firefighter/EMS force, and increased budget efficiency to ultimately lower taxes for families and businesses.
